London Time!

Hi There!

I wanted share some insights and all about my experience visiting London, England!

The day we went site seeing was yet another beautiful sunny day in England!

Tower Bridge

Before we started our tour of London, Tim took us to one of his favorite coffee shops in Richmond called, Butter Beans, where I had a nice Flat White and a smashed avocado toast. It was so good I had the same breakfast the next morning!

After our delicious breakfast we took the train into London to Waterloo station. From there we decided to take a Big Bus Tour around the city to see all the sites!

I had never been on an open top bus before so this was super exciting for me and for it being in LONDON?! Who wouldn’t be excited?

On our tour we got to see the Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus and a bunch more.

Tower Bridge is right next to The Tower of London where the crown jewels are kept which are literally -priceless- because they can’t actually put a price on them.

Buckingham Palace

We found out that St. Paul’s Cathedral had been built back up a few times because it burnt down each time and that the one we were seeing was the 3rd one.

Our tour included a boat ride on the Thames River next to Tower Bridge.  On the boat ride we were able to see Cleopatra’s Needle, the London Eye, The New London Bridge (the original is in Lake Havasu in Arizona),  Shakespeare Globe Theatre and Big Ben (even though it was covered in scaffolding which made it a bit underwhelming to see but still pretty cool to be right next to it).

I would definitely recommend doing a tower like this one to be able to see all the sites in London.

When we got off of the Boat tour we had lunch at a bar not too far from Big Ben. We had meat pies!

Once we were done with lunch we headed towards Dowing Street to see where the Prime Minister lives. I got to take a picture next to one of the guards on his horse. I was a bit scared to get close to the horse because they had two warning signs next to each guard saying ” BEWARE: Horses may kick or bite! Thank you!”

So of course I was super scared and didn’t get as close as I wanted to. img_2593

We continued walking and I got my own infamous photo inside a Red telephone booth. My husband thought I was a dork for doing it BUT when in London it’s kind of a thing that you gotta do! Right?!

Pictures or else it didn’t happen!

Next we made our way to Trafalgar Square and saw the beautiful massive lions that they have surrounding the monuments. There were too many people taking their photos on them so my husband and I took one just in front of them.

Next we made our way to Piccadilly Circus that really gives you a New York kind of vibe. It has a massive screen displaying the newest advertisement, street performers, and restaurants.

Once we were done with the Big Bus Tour Tim asked us what else we wanted to do.

To that I said,

“Is Platform 9 3/4 far from here?”

And he said “Kinda, but lets go!”

So off we went. The line wasn’t too crazy but it still took about 45 minutes to get to the front.

While I waited in line, Tim and my husband sat in the bar near by.

By the time I got to the front of the line I was glistening not because of how excited I was but because of how much I was sweating. BUT it was definitely worth it.

The Harry Potter Shop there lets you borrow a scarf from whatever house you want. I picked Gryffindor. They also provide you with a wand and allow you to take your own photo while they also take a professional one.

They have a person assigned to throw your scarf in the air to make it seem like you’re running through the wall of the Platform. It was pretty funny because the girl who threw mine in the air also jumped while she did it.

I had such an amazing time exploring all of London in one day. I can’t wait to one day go back to explore a little more.

That’s it for now.

Long Flight? No Problem: Tips to Make your flight more Enjoyable!

Hi There!

Long flights suck!

On our way to England! June 2018

No one likes to sit in an uncomfortable airplane chair for over 10 hours!

So here are a few things that I recommend bringing with you on the plane to make your long ride in the sky more enjoyable!

  1. A Book- Maybe its one that you haven’t read yet that you’ve been itching to read for weeks! Or re-read one of your favorites!
  2. Download a Spotify playlist with your favorite tunes-putting earbuds on helps me relax and clear out the noise of crying babies or snoring passengers. It also helps me dose off to sleep.
  3. Download a movie or show- if you have Netflix it has this wonderful option to download shows and movies so that you can watch them later. It helps make time go by faster especially if the airplane doesn’t have any on flight entertainment.
  4. Headphones to listen to your playlist/movie-If you have an iPhone this is important because the other headphones they provide for you on the plane will not work for your phone.
  5. Download your favorite game- I currently have a word search game on my phone that has HOURS of play time and new searches every time.
  6. Portable phone charger- you don’t want to end up with a dead phone in a new place especially when you need to find a form of transportion to you hotel, Airbnb, etc. or get a hold of your friend or family member picking you up.
  7. A pillow- yes, its an extra thing to carry BUT they are great for leaning up against your window if you have a window seat, you can put them on the tray table to fall asleep that way, you can use them as extra back support (which I do), or even sit on them to make your booty feel extra comfy on the flight as well.
  8. Water-Always buy or fill your water bottle before you get on your flight (after you get past security of course). On long flights like these waters is a must! You need to keep yourself hydrated and the little cups of water they give you on board might help for a second but trust me. BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE OF WATER. You will thank me.
  9. Extra Shirt- to change into before you land (because if you are like me and tend to sweat a lot when you sleep especially on a plane, you will want it).
  10. Comfy sweat pants- I like to keep them in my carry-on bag so that when I do decide to fall asleep I put them on and feel more relaxed.
  11. Socks-just in case your feet get cold
  12. Baby wipes- to wipe your face and also give yourself a quick “wipey bath” before you get off the plane
  13. Deodorant-so that after you freshen up with your “wipey bath” you can smell a bit better

Hope these help! If you think of any other suggestions I would love to hear what you can’t leave without to make your long flight easier!

Safe travels!xx

Off to England!

Hi there! 🙂

Today I will be telling you about the first stop of my 3 Week Summer 2018 European Trip: Richmond, in the United Kingdom!

img_2410.jpg

Never in my life would I have thought to be going to Europe, let alone England!

I have been to places outside of the United States and I’ve wanted to travel to more. But in the past I had told myself that if I had never been to Europe, I would have been okay with it.

Until, I was actually there.

I was blown away at how beautiful the cities are and how nice the people are as well.

So why did we decide to go to to Europe in the first place?

Our friend Tim, who my husband met through his own business and who has now become a great friend, invited us to his “Retirement Party” from the British Royal Air Force (RAF).

There is this big Black Tie RAF Ball that happens during the summer in Lincoln where the military officers can blow off some steam while dancing, drinking, and having a great time with friends. The military officers can invite their own guests to join. Tim, used this party as an opportunity to celebrate his own retirement.

We obviously HAD to go! Plus, what girl doesn’t like an excuse to get all dressed up and go to a big fancy party?! This would also be the first time my husband EVER wore a Tux soooo, yeah I was pretty excited to see that too. 🙂

For the rest of that Story Click the link!

Tim was pretty much the biggest reason we ended up going to Europe. Because if he hadn’t invited us to the party I don’t think we would’ve gone at all. So if you’re reading this Tim, thanks for inviting us and being a great friend! We love you buddy! haha

Anyways, back to the Trip.

So like I said before (if you read the “about me” section of my page) my husband and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada so we have a great International Airport here. Which is really convenient because we can travel anywhere from here!

Now with its new Terminal 3 Airport it makes travelling internationally SO much easier. There aren’t as many long lines while checking in, dropping off your bag, or even going through security. We have TSA pre-check which also makes things easier as well (I highly recommend getting it if you travel a lot & if you are from the United States. It saves you time and you don’t have to take your shoes off while going through)!

We flew direct to London Gatwick Airport with British Airways. It was a 10 hour flight BUT it wasn’t too bad especially since our flight was in the afternoon and we could sleep and wake up the next day in England! 🙂

For some tips on handling long flights make sure to check out my “Long Flight? No Problem: Tips to make your flight more Enjoyable!” post

When we arrived we had to go through Customs. If you have ever flown internationally you know that custom security in ANY country can be either really easy going or really scary depending on the agent you get.

Luckily, the agents weren’t scary or mean this time around so it made things so much easier.  Especially after a 10 hour flight, I sure did not want to spend any more time than I had to to actually get into the city!

Tim met us at the airport and greeted us with a big smile! It was nice to finally see our friend again! 🙂 (It really hadn’t been that long since we last saw him. We had seen him on our trip to Orlando in April 2018, but it is still always nice to see friends again especially if they live thousands of miles away!)

From the airport we traveled about an hour to get to Richmond, a town in England which is about 30 minutes from London where we stayed for 2 nights at Tim’s brothers house. Which is super nice and belongs in a magazine for how cute and comfy it is (Thanks Tim’s brother)!

I made sure to grab some crisps (aka chips because in England, chips are fries and crisps are chips) before the short ride over to Richmond cause I was hungry! If you have ever been on a plane you know that airplane food isn’t the greatest.

When we got to Richmond, we were able to finally take a shower before going on a walk through the town!

img_2420

Our first stop was for food (cause we were straving!) I had my first real British Fish and Chips at The White Horse, and let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! I’m not a big fan of cooked fish (I’m more of a sushi person) but the British sure do know how to make some good ol’fish and chips! Not a big fan of the peas but that’s how they serve them there. I guess they have to get their greens in some how.

After our bellies were full, Tim,  showed us around the Richmond Bridge area where there are local restaurants and pubs. I had a lovely Lavender Gin and Tonic at Pitcher & Piano that is right next to the Thames River. It has a lovely patio where friends can hang out during the weekend or on a sunny day like the day we were there.

I don’t know how much more I can emphasize how beautiful the day was! The sun was out, people were sunbathing on the grass in the parks, riding their bikes, hanging out with their friends. Just taking in the day!

Apparently,  while we were in England we were lucky enough to be there during their “summer week.” Which is when the sun is out and its “hot.” Now, I put quotation marks around “hot” because I’m from Las Vegas and that weather in England was definitely not “hot.” It was sunny and beautiful,  but absolutely not hot at all like it gets here.

We had great weather in general for our 3 week trip around Europe, which we heard is no very common. So I appreciate that the we were able to enjoy ourselves to the fullest!

After our beautiful day in Richmond we headed off to bed to be ready for our next adventure around London!

See ya on the next post!xx

A quick side story for y’all!

While we were in Richmond, Tim told me that my favorite actor Tom Hardy,  lives down the street from his brothers house and that his son plays in the park across the street from the house! When he told me my jaw dropped and for the short time I was in Richmond I prayed that I would see him but unfortunately he’s currently filming a movie soooo yeah, I didn’t see him. Not even a glimpse of him riding down the street in his razor scooter.

*Sigh*

Next time, I guess. 😦

Welcome.
